Ministry Opportunity this Saturday (10/19)
This Saturday, October 19, we have another chance to serve! We will be returning to Lansing to help pack and transport donations and supplies currently stored at Phoenix Baptist Church. Our team will meet in the church parking lot at 7 a.m. and head directly to Phoenix Baptist. After loading a full truck, we’ll drive to the warehouse in Wilkesboro, unload the supplies, share a meal together, and return home.
If you’d like to join us on this trip, please email moc.liamgnull@leztiercw to sign up!

Dear Church Family,
As we watch the aftermath of Hurricane Helene unfold, our hearts are heavy, but our faith remains strong. We know that in moments like these, God calls us to act with compassion, generosity, and unwavering love. Many are suffering in the wake of this disaster, and we have a unique opportunity to respond.
This is where you come in.
Right now, we are asking you—our church family—to step up and make a difference. Please join us in praying fervently for those affected, that they may find hope and healing in the midst of their loss. But let us not stop at prayer. We are also partnering with NC Baptists on Mission to provide direct, tangible aid to those in need. Your financial support will be used wisely to deliver both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts, bringing not just sustenance, but the love of Jesus to the hurting.
For those who feel called to do more, we need hands and hearts. Starting today, mission trips to the hardest-hit regions have begun. If you feel God leading you to go and serve—whether by helping with clean-up, distributing supplies, or just offering a word of comfort—we want to hear from you. You can also lead a team if you have the heart and the skills. Contact Wendy Reitzel at moc.liamgnull@leztiercw to be a part of this urgent and crucial work.
We are still gathering a comprehensive list of needs, and we will keep you updated. But don’t wait—there are lives that need our help today. This is more than just a relief effort; this is an opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in a world desperate for His love.
Let’s rise to this challenge together, united in purpose, driven by the Gospel, and filled with the hope that only Jesus can bring.
In His service,
FBC Asheboro

Standing with Western NC: FBC Asheboro’s Response to Hurricane Helene
Church family,
As we continue to witness the devastation unleashed by Hurricane Helene, particularly in the western region of North Carolina, we are calling on our congregation to rise up and join NC Baptists on Mission in responding to the overwhelming needs of these communities. The situation on the ground is dire, with numerous safety concerns due to damaged infrastructure. Before we organize any mission trips, we are awaiting further updates from NC Baptists on Mission to ensure we go at the right time and in the most effective way. Please stay tuned for more information as the situation develops.
Right now, the most powerful actions we can take are to pray for those affected, give monetarily, and prepare to serve. You can direct your financial gifts to the church, designated specifically for NC Baptists on Mission’s work in Western NC for Hurricane Helene, or donate directly to Baptists on Mission. Every dollar will make a difference in bringing relief and hope to those in need.
In addition, we are preparing to collect supplies as soon as we receive a complete list of the most urgent needs. That list will be made available shortly, and we encourage you to be ready to respond generously.
Finally, when the time comes, we ask that you go and serve through trusted and organized groups like Baptists on Mission, the American Red Cross, or Samaritan’s Purse. These teams are equipped to ensure both safety and effective support for those who need it most.
This will be a long-term effort, likely extending for at least the next two years. Our commitment to pray, give, and serve will be critical in the months and years ahead. Together, we can be the hands and feet of Christ, sharing His love in this time of great need.
In Christ,
First Baptist Church
