What is AWE?
AWE stands for Alternative Worship Experience. It’s a “come-as-you-are” worship service in a casual setting and it’s open to anyone. The AWE service takes place on Sunday evenings and is centered on the unconditional love only found in Jesus Christ. During AWE service, we learn about Jesus, grow in our faith, and glorify God.
What’s different about the AWE service?
For many people, going to “church” just doesn’t happen. Work can be the reason, as can a bad past experience. Perhaps you’ve never been to church at all. The things that tie all of us is that we have questions about our lives and where we fit in the world.
One thing to remember is that we all are people, human beings. And God loves us all. Church is not the building, the music, or the steeple and pews – it’s the people.
Where is AWE located?
We have the AWE service at the chapel of FBC Asheboro on Sundays at 6 p.m. The chapel is located at the corner of Hoover Street and N. Church Street. We invite everyone to come and bring a friend! We have a great time of praising God, study, discussion and worshiping together in a casual atmosphere.
If you have a friend or loved one who is searching for a place to be accepted, a group that will love them, journey with them, a fellowship of believers who are interested in discipleship – then AWE is the place for them.
